We created a special languages moment!
We are still buzzing from our first live e-assembly, which took place on Wednesday 23rd September to mark European Day of Languages. Approximately 8,000 primary-aged pupils took part from member schools across the country.
Irene and Emilie, the native speaker teachers from the SOW, led the assembly together, all about celebrating languages. Throughout the different parts of the session, including a quiz, challenges and songs, classes were able to interact using the chat and the reactions, which created a real buzz and a sense of taking part in something live and coming together as a network.
If you’ve missed out on this special language moment, don’t panic because we will be announcing our next e-assembly very soon!
In the future, as well as general language celebrations, expect language-specific assemblies on a mix of topics, such as festivals and celebrations, as well as more focused on the themes of the scheme of work, with opportunities to practise vocabulary, phonics and grammar in an engaging way with Irene or Emilie.
