Language Boosters Safeguarding FAQs

  • No, students do not need an email address to access or use Language Boosters.

  • Schools have complete control over how usernames appear:

    • Names

    • Initials

    • Numbers (e.g., Student 1, Student 2)

    • Randomly generated usernames (built-in option)

    This can be decided by your school according to your safeguarding preferences.

  • Yes. If you prefer, no student names need to appear on the site. Initials, class numbers, or random usernames can be used instead.

  • This is at the school’s discretion. Since personal data (like emails or surnames) can be switched out, many schools do not seek parental permission, but you are welcome to do so if it aligns with your safeguarding policies.

  • All data is stored securely in line with GDPR and UK safeguarding requirements. No sensitive personal information is collected.

  • No. There are no chat, messaging, or social features built into Language Boosters. Pupils simply complete activities and practice languages independently.

  • Yes. Teachers can view pupil progress and scores but do not need to access or manage any personal data. Teachers can not see any passwords set by pupils, they will have the option to reset the password if needed.

  • No. All activity takes place in a secure, closed environment. Nothing is shared publicly or outside your school’s account.

  • All data is stored securely on encrypted servers in line with safeguarding and GDPR requirements.

  • Only teachers can reset or manage access details. Pupils cannot retrieve accounts by email or external contact.

  • No. Language Boosters contains no ads, external links, or third-party content.
