All members have the opportunity to attend our annual conference.

‘Above & Beyond’ is an opportunity to bring the whole community together, share best practise & provide quality in-person training to the whole network

Our theme, Above and Beyond, was chosen to celebrate and share with you the amazing work that happens in PLN schools and inspire your own language provision to reach for all-round excellence, underpinned by Primary Languages Network

Have a look at gallery below to see what happened last time.

Professor Suzanne Graham (University of Reading) has researched and published widely in language learning motivation, vocabulary development and language comprehension. Her primary languages work includes a longitudinal study of young learners of French, exploring the impact of teacher and teaching factors on learning outcomes.

Julie Sutcliffe (Global School Alliance) is an established member of the MFL community with 30+ years experience in the languages classroom. Her work with Languages Unleashed and the Global School Alliance celebrates the power of languages and promotes the value of global engagement in enhancing the learning experiences of both students and teachers.

Anneliese Yafai (School Improvement Consultant) initially trained as a secondary languages teacher. Within the last 7 years, Anneliese has worked with Primary teachers, supporting non-specialist teachers with language teaching. Anneliese leads a Primary hub which develops MFL leads and has delivered CPD at more than 50 Primary and Middle schools as well as sharing her ideas at many national conferences. This session will focus on the successful transition between KS2-KS3 and what language skills secondary schools aspire their students to have when arriving in Year 7.
