Our programme of CPD, training courses and webinars has been designed around the needs of schools and academies, to develop and improve the teaching and learning of primary Languages.

All courses are led by experienced primary language teachers and consultants who will share their knowledge and expertise about language teaching and learning.

The courses are available to: MFL Coordinators, class teachers, network members and school groups across in the UK.

We hold MFL Coordinator CPD in the North West for premium network members.

The training courses are held once per term and will enable your school to get the most out of the resources on our Primary Languages VLE and help you develop primary languages in your school.

Staff Meeting CPD at your school - £145

We offer Staff Meeting CPD for network members which is held at your school (UK based) for your whole staff on a date and time to suit you. The training session lasts about one hour and shows staff how to use the resources on our Primary Languages VLE.

Choice of themes include:

We are a leading Primary Languages training company, with over 21 years experience in delivering high quality CPD to MFL Coordinators, class teachers and trainees and recently completed the successful Language Learning for Everyone training programme for primary teachers on behalf of the DfE and Warrington TSA.

Courses are lead by our QTS qualified primary languages teachers who also teach primary languages in over 50 schools and bring together the requirements for the DfE KS2 Languages PoS with the primary curriculum.

We offer a variety of training courses open to any MFL Coordinator or Class Teacher wishing to improve their skills in managing or delivering primary languages.

An Introduction to Primary Languages for ITTs day 1 (ITT-1) - £400

  • In this course students will explore the fundamental principles of teaching a language.

  • How to develop effective speaking, listening, reading and writing skills with your classes in a Foreign Language.

  • Find out how to assess, progress and link MFL with the whole school curriculum.

  • Links to literacy and storytelling in a Foreign language.

  • Making MFL accessible for all.

Creative Teaching and Learning in Primary Languages for ITTs day 2 (ITT-2) - £400

  • This course will build on the strategies and principles explored in Day 1 Training

  • Explore ways in which creative ideas can be brought to life and give excitement and relevance to Primary children learning a language.

  • Links to Literacy & SPAG: Creative ways to reinforce other areas of the curriculum through teaching MFL

  • Find out ways to build on children’s prior knowledge of the language in a creative way.

  • Exploring the Cross Curricular Approach, bringing languages to life in your classroom.

  • Find out how to use technology to enhance creative language learning.

 

We offer whole staff CPD and training courses as a twilight or afternoon session delivered to staff at your school

Primary Languages Network offers free twilight meetings and webinars to help schools and teachers establish and develop outstanding MFL provision.

The meetings are led by experienced Primary Languages practitioners and are held in Manchester, Warrington, St Helens, Knowsley, Halton, Wigan, Bolton, Sefton, Tameside, South Cheshire, East Cheshire East and West Cheshire.

The twilight meetings are held at a local school and allow teachers to network with each other, share ideas and good practice and learn about the latest developments and upcoming events and training opportunities.
